Review:

I received this product as a gift from my mother two weeks ago. I have it in the color black because it goes with everything I have. There are other wonderful colors to choose from.

I was excited to use this product and honestly, the excitement has not gone away. I love the features this little band has to offer. When I first read up about what the Fitbit was supposed to be able to do I was a tad skeptical. A continuous measure of my heart beat, knowing when I had gone up a flight of stairs and knowing when I was cycling sounded  a little bit too good to be true for me. Setting up the Fitbit was incredibly easy and the instructions explained everything I needed to know and if it was not in the  instructions, the Fitbit website helped fill in whatever blanks there were for me.

Since I have a flight of stairs in my house, I was able to test out how well it detected me walking up the stairs (I found that it only tracks you going up the stairs, not down) and found that it was completely accurate. I found that it had an accurate measure of my heartbeat at all times. I would check the heartbeat setting on the Fitbit anytime I would do anything that accelerated my heart beat and sure enough, the Fitbit would track the fluctuation in my heart rate. Lastly, I went for a bike ride this week and I found that the Fitbit was tracking my cycling as steps. I was impressed since my arm was not moving to help indicate that I was cycling or walking. I figured it was because it was tracking my heart that it would figure I was doing some type of exercise.

I think what is really neat about this Fitbit is that it gives you goals to work towards. There are a certain amount of steps, calories, miles, and stairs you are supposed to achieve by the end of the day. When you fulfill at least one category it can be extremely satisfying. This product is great for people who are trying to lose weight or just trying to get more out of their exercise experience.
