I Am

I am.. Two simple words that have so much meaning. 

I am the cure for a disease
I am the infectious laughter rolling through your body
I am the voice behind a generation
I am the woman who will lead a nation


Now I know I am no saint
I am not perfect
I am well aware of my flaws 
But when you mix my positives and my negatives together you will see that 
I am human. 
When you look at me you realize that
I am a girl with endless possibilities 

Now you may ask how did I get this way?
Well to put it simply, I was born from the fire of dedication and passion
I was hardened by the burdens in this world, destined for struggle
But on the other hand:
I am flawed 
I am the girl who is way too sarcastic and has too much sass
I will never change who I am, not for anyone
If you forget me, just remember 
I am.
