What I'm Working on Next

Hey Clickers!

Since I'm picking everything back up I wanted to let you guys know what was in store for the future.

I have a couple of reviews in store! I've been playing Undertale, The Final Station and The Stanley Parable.  I've enjoyed all of them so far but, I'm having a little trouble with The Final Station. After I downloaded it, there was a glitch in my game that's making it hard to play.

I'm also going to review the website Fashion Nova. I've used it a couple of times and I want you guys to know what I think about it.

Another review on my list is "Make Happy" by Bo Burnham. I've been working on it but, there is just a lot of content to sort through!!

Well, I better get to it!

Turmoil

Name: Turmoil
Developer: Gamious
Price:$9.99
Where to buy: Steam

Description:

"Drill for oil like it's 1899! Turmoil offers players a visually charming, tongue-in-cheek take on the simulation genre inspired by the 19th-century oil rush in North America." -Steam

Review:

Alright guys, here we are with an amazing game.

I was introduced to this game by one of my favorite YouTubers, Jacksepticeye. I linked his YouTube page on his name if you want to check him out. It is described on Steam as a simulation, strategy, management, indie and 2D game.

Image result for turmoil
This game consists of managing money and drilling for oil and gas effectively.  It may sound easy but, it can become increasingly difficult with the different terrains your character comes across. There are two modes that you can try out.  They are Normal and Expert, pretty straightforward. In order to go to Expert mode you, first, have to beat Normal mode.  I found this to be a simple feat, not very challenging. I would even stretch and say it was relaxing.

On the other hand...
When approaching Expert mode, I found it.... quite difficult. I have not beaten Expert mode. I have completed it and lost... horribly.

I will be vague with what is different with this mode.
I want you guys to experience it for yourselves and tell me what you think!

It is way more difficult to beat the game when the other players are earning more than you ever made in Normal mode. Let me put it this way, from my experience, playing Normal mode is child's play in comparison to Expert mode. I will admit that Expert mode did make me rage quit and reset the game a couple of times.

I would say this game is not super addictive but, if you are going to play it make sure you clear out a chunk of time to play it. The levels can be time-consuming.
It is not incredibly expensive and I feel that it was worth the buy. I highly recommend it!!

Rating system (1-10) 1= horrible/ bad 10= heck ya!

Platform: 10

Rage: 7

Enjoyableness: 10

Addictiveness: 5

Fitbit Charge HR Warranty

Hey Clickers!

Although I love my Fitbit, it has started to warp and the band is starting to come off. I'm not sure why this is happening to the Fitbit. I'm not rough with it and I make sure I take care of it but it is still managing to rise and turn up at the edges.

When you buy this product make sure you also buy a warranty because you never know if something is going to happen to it. It is absolutely worth it.

I didn't say anything about a warranty in my original post because I did not know I had or needed one. Now I know and hopefully I can pass on some useful information.

Warranties are necessary!

I Am

I am.. Two simple words that have so much meaning.

I am the cure for a disease
I am the infectious laughter rolling through your body
I am the voice behind a generation
I am the woman who will lead a nation

Now I know I am no saint
I am not perfect
I am well aware of my flaws
But when you mix my positives and my negatives together you will see that
I am human.
When you look at me you realize that
I am a girl with endless possibilities

Now you may ask how did I get this way?
Well to put it simply, I was born from the fire of dedication and passion

I was hardened by the burdens in this world, destined for struggle
But on the other hand:
I am flawed
I am the girl who is way too sarcastic and has too much sass

I will never change who I am, not for anyone
If you forget me, just remember
I am.

Review:
I bought this speaker recently to replace my broken speaker. My old one had a good run but, I accidentally blew out the speaker. I can't help but like my music to be obnoxiously loud.

The Doss speaker works brilliantly. It is a little more high-tech than I expected and I love it. There are no actual buttons on it, except for the power button on the back of the device. You can turn the volume up or down depending on which way you move your finger on the circle. (in the image to the left ) If you are connected to the Bluetooth you can press the fast forward and rewind symbols to switch between songs. There is also a play/pause button that also acts as an answering button if you need to take a call.

I have always been skeptical of Bluetooth on portable speakers because the connection would always go in and out but, the Bluetooth on the Soundbox is amazing and connects easily.

When I received the speaker it came carefully wrapped in a Doss box. Along with the speaker came an auxiliary cord, charging cord and a bag that is supposed to help protect it from water and other elements. I have not tried out the bag myself, just thinking about getting water near this speaker gives me anxiety. I tested the speaker with different genres of songs to see how it would hold with the bass and treble. It passed all the sound tests I had. It never sounded scratchy or static-like no matter how loud I put it. Overall, I was very pleased with this speaker. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in investing about 30 dollars in a nice portable speaker.

Slither.io

Name: Slither.io
Developer: Steve Howse
Steam: Not Available on Steam
Website To Play: Click here to play!

Review:

This is a multiplayer browser game that allows thousands of players to interact with each other.  It is fun and easy to play for almost all ages. The object of the game is to not run into other snakes and to make them run into you. If another snake dies you can collect bright bubbles to get longer. When playing the game, the bottom right or left corner should have how long you are, it just says the number but, it has no unit next to it. If the head of your snake runs into the body of another snake then, you will turn into a bunch of big bright bubbles and it is game over.. well until you press "Play again".

This is a game that has become a big deal in these past few months. I originally heard about it through some of my favorite YouTube Gamers like JackSepticEye, Markiplier, Pewdiepie and The Game Grumps. I linked each of their names to their YouTube channels if you guys want to check them out. Anyways, I watched these guys and saw how amazing and infuriating this game could be, so, of course, I had to do my own research and play it.

I feel like I got beginners luck the first time I played this game because I was able to get to such a long length but, after that it was hard to make it past a thousand on the length measurer. I found this game super addicting because when you die it is so easy to start up another game. I found myself playing for a couple of hours before I noticed that I was going to be late for some event. It isn't a very difficult game but, when some snake snipes you out of nowhere, you're gonna want another chance to redeem yourself.

This game is easily accessible and a couple of hours of fun. I really hope you guys try out this game!

Review:

I received this product as a gift from my mother two weeks ago. I have it in the color black because it goes with everything I have. There are other wonderful colors to choose from.

I was excited to use this product and honestly, the excitement has not gone away. I love the features this little band has to offer. When I first read up about what the Fitbit was supposed to be able to do I was a tad skeptical. A continuous measure of my heart beat, knowing when I had gone up a flight of stairs and knowing when I was cycling sounded  a little bit too good to be true for me. Setting up the Fitbit was incredibly easy and the instructions explained everything I needed to know and if it was not in the  instructions, the Fitbit website helped fill in whatever blanks there were for me.

Since I have a flight of stairs in my house, I was able to test out how well it detected me walking up the stairs (I found that it only tracks you going up the stairs, not down) and found that it was completely accurate. I found that it had an accurate measure of my heartbeat at all times. I would check the heartbeat setting on the Fitbit anytime I would do anything that accelerated my heart beat and sure enough, the Fitbit would track the fluctuation in my heart rate. Lastly, I went for a bike ride this week and I found that the Fitbit was tracking my cycling as steps. I was impressed since my arm was not moving to help indicate that I was cycling or walking. I figured it was because it was tracking my heart that it would figure I was doing some type of exercise.

I think what is really neat about this Fitbit is that it gives you goals to work towards. There are a certain amount of steps, calories, miles, and stairs you are supposed to achieve by the end of the day. When you fulfill at least one category it can be extremely satisfying. This product is great for people who are trying to lose weight or just trying to get more out of their exercise experience.

Durability: 9 (it is not waterproof but it can be made waterproof)

Geometry Dash-Meltdown

Game: Geometry Dash- Meltdown
Seller: Robo Games AB
Price: Lite Version: Free; Full Version: $1.99
App Store: Click here to see it in the App Store
Steam: Not available on Steam

Review:
I feel like everyone knows this game already but, if you don't, Geometry Dash is a game that is both a precision and arcade game. It has been compared to the Impossible Game which is one of hardest games, ever. This game  has two main components: jumping on the beat and flying to the beat.

Honestly, this game was difficult. There are no checkpoints (like The Impossible Game), meaning that if you die close to the end of the game you have to start over from the very beginning. This factor can bring people to the point of rage quitting, which I did a couple of times. It is fast paced and can become intense throughout the levels. The graphics were beautiful, the colors go with the music and can be mesmerizing at times, so mesmerizing it causes you to mess up... but we won't talk about that.

I've heard people talk down on this game because of how similar it is to the Impossible Game, but it is so much more. There are key differences in the games that set them apart. For example, the Impossible Game has a very simple design unlike Geometry Dash which 1) has different skins for the blocks you are using and 2) Changes colors throughout the game. And like I mentioned before, Geometry Dash has a flying component to it. The Impossible Game is only jumping.

I downloaded the lite version of the game just to test it out and now I'm getting ready to buy the full version. This is an addictive game. I would recommend playing during vacations or when you have a lot of free time to spare because you will want to play it over and over again.

Description:

"The New York Times bestseller, soon to be a major motion picture; US release on June 3, 2016.

They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair-bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A Love Story for this generation and perfect for fans of John Green’s The Fault in Our StarsMe Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?"
-Amazon

Review:

This book is so heartwrenching and heartwarming at the same time.

This is not your typical love story, it is so much more than that. It'll drag you through a flurry of emotions and leave you wanting so much more. This book made me question myself on how I would handle the situation of putting my significant others' happiness over my own. This book had both realistic characters and realistic scenarios. At first glance, when you look at the characters you would think they are your stereotypical one-dimensional personas every author uses these days but, as you read on you see that the characters are deeper than what meets the eye.

This book is honestly very dark when you look at it as a whole but, it makes you understand a perspective that not many people think or know about. I don't want to spoil anything in this book for you guys but let me just say, the author covers a sensitive subject that is illegal in some states and even a few countries. So if you are easily broken-hearted or become overly attached to characters, pace yourself in this book.

If I were to compare this book to any other books I would say it is a little less sad than The Fault in our Stars By John Green and as equally as frustrating as the ending of Allegiant by Veronica Roth.

Happy Reading!

Egghead: Or, You Can't Survive on Ideas Alone by Bo Burnham

Title: Egghead: Or, You Can't Survive on Ideas Alone
Author: Bo Burnham
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Price on Amazon: $12.18
Kindle Edition:$ 9.99
Hardcover: $16.15

Description:

"A strange and charming collection of hilariously absurd poetry, writing, and illustration from one of today's most popular young comedians...

EGGHEAD: Or, You Can't Survive on Ideas Alone

Bo Burnham was a precocious teenager living in his parents' attic when he started posting material on YouTube. 100 million people viewed those videos, turning Bo into an online sensation with a huge and dedicated following. Bo taped his first of two Comedy Central specials four days after his 18th birthday, making him the youngest to do so in the channel's history. Now Bo is a rising star in the comedy world, revered for his utterly original and intelligent voice. And, he can SIIIIIIIIING!

In EGGHEAD, Bo brings his brand of brainy, emotional comedy to the page in the form of off-kilter poems, thoughts, and more. Teaming up with his longtime friend, artist, and illustrator Chance Bone, Bo takes on everything from death to farts in this weird book that will make you think, laugh and think, "why did I just laugh?" "
            -Amazon

Review:

I will be honest with you guys and say that my review of this book is totally biased. I love Bo Burnham's work as a comedian, writer, and actor. When I found out that he had written a book I bought it and instantly fell in love with the poems. Please be aware that if you purchase this book, there is material that is unsuitable for children throughout the book.

Egghead is a poetry book that takes you through so many emotions but is still able to leave you laughing.
Throughout this book, there were a plethora of hilarious poems. Most of them were crass but, when you kept reading you would find the ones that talked of love as if the author had found the girl of his dreams. On the other hand, you found poems that were haunting and brutal. Poems that would make you rethink your view on love, life, and death. I loved the endless wit embedded in each poem. This book was like a forest that you could get lost in for hours. There were so many poems to analyze for a deeper meaning or read for pure enjoyment. The poems had great form, they were carefully written and craftily structured. This book was very visual, both with the illustrations and the poems. The creativity in this book was infectious. It will make you forget about the days in middle school and high school where you had to painfully write 10 stanzas of poetry and want to write out sonnets dedicated to old teachers and funny memories. My favorite poem within the book is called "Perfect", it's sweet and simple. Since I don't want to ruin it for you, I'm not going to tell you guys what it's about, I want you read the book and see just how amazing it really is.
I recommend this book for people who enjoy poetry, comedy, love and abstract thoughts. I also would say it is for the 17 and up crowd.

Divergent By Veronica Roth

Title: Divergent
Author: Veronica Roth
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Price on Amazon: $6.91
Kindle Edition: $8.99
Hard Cover: $12.16

Description:

"Perfect for fans of the Hunger Games and Maze Runner series, Divergent and its sequels, Insurgent and Allegiant—plus Four: A Divergent Collection, four stories told from the perspective of the character Tobias—are the gripping story of a dystopian world transformed by courage, self-sacrifice, and love. Fans of the Divergent movie will find the book packed with just as much emotional depth and exhilarating action as the film, all told in beautiful, rich language.
The paperback edition includes bonus materials created by Veronica Roth, including her essays on Utopian worlds and how she named the factions, writing tips, a Q&A, a Divergent playlist, faction manifestos, and an excerpt from Insurgent
One choice can transform you. Beatrice Prior's society is divided into five factions—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Beatrice must choose between staying with her Abnegation family and transferring factions. Her choice will shock her community and herself. But the newly christened Tris also has a secret, one she's determined to keep hidden, because in this world, what makes you different makes you dangerous."
-Amazon

Review:

I promised years ago that I would do this review... better late than never!
To start off, this dystopian themed universe has become common now and days. It seems like authors threw out vampires and werewolves and tossed in messed up post-apocalyptic universes.
Despite the overuse of the theme, it was a great read that kept you interested in both the romance, action, and suspense. Most of the characters were well rounded and were not too predictable. It had a nice balance of balance and romance. The main character Tris seemed like a suitable role-model for the younger readers. Her bravery and loyalty are some things everyone can admire. If I had to give a rough description of Tris I would say she has more common sense than Bella Swan and more decisive than Katniss Everdeen.
I liked the universe that Veronica Roth created. I noticed there were some undertones of Scientology in the book but, most people don't see it and it's what makes the book interesting, so I choose to ignore that fact. ( Don't know what scientology is? click here for a definition) I think she really was creative with the different factions.( Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Candor, and Amity)  It gave the readers something to obsess over in the book.
"What faction do you think I should be in?"
What I like most is one of the messages the author sends. I interpret it as her saying that it takes more than one trait to make a well-rounded person. I found that there are many different themes to the book and I love that because it leaves room for the readers to get their own message from the book.
